I see Bill's name in the news again, and it is mostly gossip about what he has or hasn't done. I guess reporting on the trial verdicts just takes too long, and it just isn't fair to wait until something has actually happened. The details are just so juicy, of course they have to take advantage of.
Well, Bill is a story teller. That is a powerful skill. I don't think of him as a criminal because I don't think that is the most important aspect of his existence. And, the court can decide what he has or hasn't done wrong. I just wonder about what he can do to make up for any mistakes that he has made. What kind of public service could he do to make his name a bit better.
He sold jello and ice cream, what can he sell us about making mistakes? What are the lessons we can learn. I don't want to drive him into the ground, I want to ask him what he is going to do for us. I want it to be a fill in the blanks type assignment. What is not funny about having your name in the paper, Bill? What is not funny about being black, Bill? What is not funny about all the other people who have done what you have done that have been treated exactly the same, or totally different? Take your smiling reputation and throw it away for us, and tell us the things we need to know, not just the things that make us laugh.
I'd like see articles filled with suggestions for him, instead of salacious news version of an oily napkins in a state fair trash can. It might even be fun for the hacks.
